Heartland Community Church | AODK :: Architecture Office :: David Krebs

The project is a new church facility on a partially wooded 35 acre site. The project includes a 500 seat auditorium style worship center, youth center with 100 seat performance space and caf lounge area, 4000 S.F. gallery space, caf, child and adult class rooms and office space. The site work includes soccer and baseball field areas, an amphitheater and necessary parking. The goal is to provide a new home for a church that is currently worshipping in a high School. The church is intended to be open and welcoming to people searching for a new safe place to worship and grow in faith by creating a non-traditional church environment. The floor plan places the caf at the main entry to the building and large windows allow views into the caf from the parking area. The worship center, class rooms, offices and youth areas are organized around a central circulation path passing though the main entry and by the caf. The interior and exterior image and finish materials are designed to create a welcoming feeling consistent with hospitality spaces.
