Sterling United Methodist Church | AODK :: Architecture Office :: David Krebs

The project is the renovation and expansion of the existing facility to include a new fellowship hall, congregation meeting area and classrooms. The goal is to update/add on to the existing facility to accommodate the changing needs of the current congregation and encourage growth of new members. The solution is to develop plan that provides a lobby large enough to accommodate fellowship before and after service. The lobby will be an addition to the front of the building that will also create a new strong main entrance and comply with the current ADA issues by adding an elevator. A new central core on the lower level will organize classroom, kitchen, lavatories and the new fellowship hall into a single clear space. The exterior of the building will be designed to be compatible with the traditional detailing of the original facility while covering up a large portion of a previous addition completed in a different style and color.
