Wadsworth United Methodist Church | AODK :: Architecture Office :: David Krebs

PROJECT::
The phased renovation of an existing church facility and the addition of a new family life center. The complete master plan includes the renovation of the existing traditional Sanctuary, the addition of a new 500 seat auditorium for contemporary worship, and children, youth, teen and young adult centers.

GOAL::
Reorganize the pedestrian circulation on the site and throughout the existing building to create a clear main entry point that all spaces are accessed from. Add new building space in a manner that merges with the existing building and allows the existing Sanctuary to continue to be a landmark on the street.

SOLUTION::
Phase one of the project is an interior renovation including mechanical, interior fixture and finish updates. The master plan expands the existing facility to the West to include additional classrooms, worship spaces for children, youth and adults, as well as a family life center. The centralized entrance and transparent gallery directly connect the two main functions of the facility; Family Life Center and The Sanctuary.
