Landmark Tower Competition :: Dublin, Ireland | AODK :: Architecture Office :: David Krebs

The project is a new church facility on 36 wooded acres to include a 1,200 seat auditorium, gallery, classroom wing, and training rooms. The goal was to design a facility that would be welcoming and friendly to people from this region as well as across the world for the Christian Church. The solution was to make the 10,000 s.f. central gallery/atrium the focus of the building. This center is the gathering area for the church family before and after the service and is large enough to hold the entire auditorium. The atrium is also used for banquets of 300 and weddings. It is designed with predominantly 20 ft. high glass walls to see out into the wooded landscape as well as allow people to see people inside as they approach. All of the functions of the church begin and end back in this open area. The building master plan allows every program use of the building to be expanded based on the future needs of the church. The auditorium design includes catwalks, fly-tower, orchestra pit, theater seating to handle major touring productions.
