The project is the interior and exterior renovation of an existing 3 story building in an historic downtown. The goal is to create two floors of contemporary residential on the second and third floors and retail on the first floor while keeping the historic character of the exterior of the building. The solution was to demolish the existing interiors and create two apartments on the upper floors by reworking the existing stairs, sandblasting the interior walls, creating new kitchens and bathrooms along with a two story internal light well. The exposed brick walls, high ceilings, large windows and spiral duct create a contemporary urban loft apartment. The project included a new two story bay window on the exterior to recreate an old feature that was demolished along time before.
